Is the Fairphone5’s Modular Design Still Relevant?
Lately people have been talking a lot online about a new phone called the Fairphone 5. This phone is designed so users can easily fix and customize it themselves by swapping out parts like the camera, battery, or screen.
The Fairphone 5 is modular, meaning its parts can be removed and upgraded. With this phone, you don’t need technical skills to do basic repairs or customizations. Since people seem interested in phones they can customize and fix themselves, I wonder what people think of the Fairphone 5. Is this kind of modular, customisable smartphone still interesting to people today? I’d love to hear opinions on whether you find the idea of this product appealing.
The concept is nice to have modular but for the average users, will people be that creative on what they want?
I like the way iPhone is designed and offered to the world. It targets the average users who just need a simple to use phone with good UX and nothing in-between.
