How should my startup team look like?
When forming my own team, what qualities and characteristics should I look for in individuals?
When building a team, seek individuals who possess a balance of hard skills and soft skills that align with the team’s goals. Hard skills include technical expertise and proficiency in relevant tools and methodologies. Soft skills encompass problem-solving, communication, adaptability, teamwork, creativity, proactiveness, resilience, and enthusiasm. Prioritize individuals who share your passion, values, and cultural fit to create a cohesive and successful team.
My take is to start off with the type of people who you most comfortable working with to shape the company culture and business.
With the right people who can go hand in hand with you, the business will shape itself up.
For example, if you have a leader who support its colleagues, the company will move forward as the culture becomes caring of each others.
But if you are to bring in someone who is self centered, over time the company will collapse when everyone is for themselves.
